Lonsberg Naturbetten from Lippstadt is known beyond Germany’s borders for high-quality natural mattresses, slatted frames and bedding in ecological quality. The company was founded in 1885 in Westphalia as “Textilwerk Peter Lonsberg”. The company manufactured mattresses from natural materials. At first out of necessity, because there were not many other materials except seaweed and straw. Later, when more and more artificial fibers came into the beds, the company held on to the conviction that natural materials are the best prerequisite for a good night’s sleep.

Today, all mattresses and bedding are sewn, filled and made up by hand after the order is placed. Therefore, custom sizes and special designs can be delivered without any problems. Upholstery, quilting and sewing are all under one roof. The slatted frames are built from local beech wood by a friendly carpenter’s workshop.
